Maverick HPX’s Take Top Three Spots at Islamorada Invitational Fall Fly Bonefish Tournament

Islamorada, FL, October 2, 2018 – Capt. Jeremy Alderman and angler Tony Llera took home the Largest Bonefish (10.4 pounds) and the Two-day High Points awards to claim Grand Champion honors at this past weekend’s Islamorada Invitational Fall Fly Bonefish Tournament. The team also won this year’s Keys Spring Invitational Bonefish Fly Tournament making them the first team to ever win these two prestigious tournaments in the same calendar year and giving Alderman the distinction of being the first to ever be able to claim wins as a captain at both events. Captain Lincoln Rodriquez and angler Tyler Shealey finished second and Captain Mark Krowka with angler Mark Richens finished out the winner’s circle at third. Captains Alderman and Rodriquez fished out of Maverick 17 HPX-V’s while Krowka used his Maverick 18 HPX to battle 20 knot winds and tough conditions.
The win puts an exclamation point on a six-month major tournament season that has been dominated by Maverick captains and their anglers once again. Going back to the first tarpon fly tournament of the season, Mavericks have taken 12 of the possible 15 top three finishing spots including wins in every tournament.
Congratulations and thanks to all our exceptional Maverick captains and their anglers.
